What is a knowledge base?

A knowledge base is a single document that tells AI everything about your brand, content, and business. It's the "who you are" file that gives AI the context it needs to create content that sounds like you.

Without a knowledge base: AI gives you generic output that could come from anyone.

With a knowledge base: AI gives you personalized output that sounds like your content.

The 8 sections every knowledge base needs

Every section answers a question AI would otherwise have to guess at. Here's what goes in each one.

Brand Overview

What you do (one sentence)
Who you are (your background, credentials)
Your positioning (what makes you different)
Your brand handles (social media, website, newsletter)

Target Audience

Demographics (age, profession, location)
Psychographics (values, beliefs, goals)
Pain points (what problems they have)
Desired outcomes (what transformation they want)

How to create your knowledge base (the easy way)

Don't write it from scratch. Extract it from content you've already created.

Step 1: Gather your best content

Collect 15-30 pieces of your best content:

5-10 newsletter issues or blog posts
5-10 social media posts or scripts
3-5 longer pieces (YouTube scripts, podcast notes)
Any "about me" or bio content

Step 2: Use this prompt

Copy this prompt and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, or your preferred AI tool. Attach your content files.

I want you to analyze my content and create a comprehensive knowledge base document.

Format this as a clean markdown document that I can use as a reference file for future AI-assisted content creation.

Include specific examples from my content to illustrate each section.

Step 3: Review and refine

The AI will generate a first draft. Review it and:

Add anything important it missed
Correct any misinterpretations
Add specific dates, numbers, or details
Remove anything that doesn't feel accurate
