Who’s teaching it

Hi, I’m Preston.

I run The Impromptu Speakers Academy, where I’ve taught hundreds of students across the Fortune 2000 to think on their feet.

800,000 people follow me for lessons on communicating better at work: with their managers, their executives, and their colleagues.

Group session · 3 min

Ask a clarifying question before you answer

If you’re the quiet one in the meeting, a clarifying question is the easiest way in. I show the group how to pick 1 keyword from what someone just said and dig into it. Then 2 participants say what this would have changed early in their careers.

Video lesson · 6 min

PREPS: a framework for answering on the spot

A lesson from my course. Point, Reason, Example, Point, Segue: the structure your new joiners will use for questions, opinions, and updates from month 2, with a personal and a professional example.

Group session · 10 min

Gift statements: what your audience should walk away with

A group session. Janice builds a gift statement live for a real onboarding meeting. Then the group learns to turn it into a stated intent by asking 1 question first: is this meeting a summary or a discovery?

How it runs

Here’s everything you get.

One program, four parts, for the full 6 months.

  • 6live workshops
  • 18office hours sessions
  • 27hours of live coaching
  • 12months of curriculum access
01

Live workshops, one per month

  • 6 live virtual workshops, 90 minutes each, one for each theme above
  • Same day and time every month so people can plan around it
  • Frameworks first, then live coaching with 1 volunteer while the group watches
  • Breakout-room practice so every person speaks in every workshop
  • Every workshop is recorded, and ADIA keeps the recordings
02

Weekly office hours

  • 3 sessions a month, 1 hour each, for all 6 months (18 sessions in total)
  • A mix of 1:1 and group coaching, depending on who shows up and what they need
  • Bring the real thing: the meeting you’re running next week, the email you’re stuck on, the deck due Friday
  • Live feedback on the month’s skill before they use it with their manager
03

Custom async curriculum

  • Video lessons built to complement each live workshop and customized to your needs, so the practice continues between sessions
  • Examples, templates, AI prompts, and practice scenarios for every month
  • Released month by month so people do the work each month
  • 1-year license, hosted in the LMS of your choice
04

A managed community, hosted on Circle

  • I run a private community for your new hires for the full 6 months
  • Participants are paired into pods for peer review between sessions
  • Regular reminders about practice sessions and check-ins so pods actually meet
  • I answer questions online between workshops, so nobody waits a month for help
  • I handle pod coordination and follow-up, so your L&D team doesn’t have to
